Days of Play

Hannan is staying awake a lot more during the day, and it is a challenge to keep him entertained. He loves to be held and talked to-occasionally giving his own thoughts on things; and he is very fond of watching the dancing rain forest animals and cascading waterfall on the bouncy seat that cousin Bennett let us borrow. I know he'd sit and watch TV if we let him (he is more like his daddy everyday)! He tried his best to turn his head and cut his eyes to see the All Star game tonight with Jay!

We have even found that Abby (our sweet but neglected golden retriever) makes him smile. She was oblivious to him, trying to get us to play with her and her slobbery duck, but Hannan was getting tickled at her and doing his "full body smile with little dance" when she came close. I don't think the camera could quite capture that moment.

We broke out the Bumbo seat the other day. He was disappointed that this fancy seat did not offer any entertainment of its own, but he seemed proud to sit there anyway-sitting up like a big boy with his head held high!

Hannan serves as our entertainment these days. Forget movies, ball games, and fancy restaurants-we just love to watch his little eyes capture new things and that precious face light up and smile over and over again.(Jay and I did manage to go to a beautiful wedding the other night while Hannan stayed with grandparents and Aunt Laurie. Hannan was missed but we had so much fun on our little date.)

If you are some of the friends and family that we haven't seen or caught up with in awhile-we apologize-we have had our hands full-entertaining and being entertained! Come join us at our house anytime for a new kind of fun!
