Honduras, C.A. Day 2

There is no way to capture the beauty of this country or accurately describe the way God is working with words. I would love to load more pictures, but because the internet is especially slow, I will have to wait until later. There have been many moments that I have not been able to capture on camera, but as Pastor John said a few weeks ago, there are some moments too holy or special to take away from by grabbing your camera.

Our team has bonded right away. It is so neat to see everyone's individual personalities and gifts work together to truly be a team unified in spirit and purpose. We have had fun times laughing together over dinner, playing ball with children in the street, and special times of sharing at night around a "bonfire" in Ms. Lavearn's fireplace.

Yesterday, we were able to celebrate the Resurrection with our Honduran brothers and sisters in Christ. We broke bread together and came to the table, all wanting to receive HIM, and He definitely met us.

The highlight of yesterday was watching the children hunt Easter eggs for the first time ever. They didn't understand the concept of "hunting an egg" at first and needed an explanation as to how the egg even fits together with Easter. Once we tried to explain the symbolism of new life in Christ and how eggs even look like the stone which was rolled away, they took off running and the excitement was contagious! Eggs for everyone! Can't wait to show you a picture of one little guy, who is about two years old, trying to hold all the eggs his little arms could possibly handle!

Today, we got started on the stove pipes and completed the pipes in four homes. The families were so grateful and participated in the process as well. They offered us their best once we were in their home, whether that was a hug and kiss or some very ripe peaches to eat. We did more learning than anything, watching while Pastor Jesus and his friend showed us how it was done. Once we understood, the guys took off working and we were all very tired after this day's work.

The most exciting part of the day was watching God take us out of our way to a home that wasn't even receiving a stove pipe. We really went to see her out door cooking stove and adobe oven. As we began to talk with her, one of the ladies who lives here named Margot began to share with this lady the message of Christ. She listened intently and decided that it was time to give her heart to the Lord. The Joy at that moment was unspeakable... to know that this woman, who has heard the gospel before and seen it lived out in front of her for some time, would finally hear and know the Truth! This may be the only reason we came and if it is, it was worth it...but I'm thinking there is so much more!
