Better Day

Thanks to all of you for your encouragement yesterday! Today was a better day. Hannan tried to wrestle with me about going down for that afternoon nap, but I was victorious. Ahhh...a well rested baby is a sweet one! I just wanted to "keep it real" for ya'll (as Pioneer woman would say)!

Hannan and I met Emilee for lunch today. (Check out the video on her blog-you may see someone you recognize.) She has recently moved to La Esperanza, Honduras to live and work as a missionary alongside Ms. Lavearn Brooker. Hannan knew there was something special about her and loved smiling and cooing at her through lunch. He is all boy though and decided to do a "big job" right there in the middle of lunch with noises and all! (Sometimes, I think God gave him to me so that I will have to keep it real!)

During a time where the United States is facing economic turmoil, we are still a very wealthy nation. We have grown to love the people of Honduras on our two brief trips to that country. While we were there, I helped in the medical clinics that Ms. Lavearn runs weekly. I was amazed that they would walk for miles (taking them hours) to receive medical treatment. They don't worry about the price of gas, because very few of them even have vehicles. We are definitely blessed.

We will continue to pray for Emilee, Ms. Lavearn, and several other ministries within the country of Honduras. God has called them there for "such a time as this", and they are being obedient to the call. "Our call is to follow Christ and ministry is just an overflow of our walk." (Beth Moore) No matter what our socioeconomic status, what borders we live within, or what color our skin, we all have a desperate need for a Savior. God goes to great lengths to reach even just one of His children with His love.

He sends some off to Omaha, Nebraska or Kansas City to share His love with others; and then some, over seas to war-torn lands. We have friends like Lindsey in Israel and Juliana in Thailand, who are both working as teachers to children in those countries. We pray for all of you guys and gals that "whenever you open your mouth, words may be given to you so that you will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel." Ephesians 6:19 We love you all!!!
